Cave Field Trip - Day 1

This week I'm going on 2 field trips.
Today we took 3 schools to the Austin area to visit a cave.
This was a 2 1/2 hour bus trip there and another 2 1/2 hours back.
Luckily, our ride was pretty good.
I think the kids enjoyed it and I did too (except for a small asthma attack).
Wish me luck for Friday's trip!
Where is your favorite field trip??

That cave looks really cool! What did your kids think? Are you doing any curriculum ties in the classroom with this? I would love to hear about it and see more pictures :)

An asthma attack does not sound good!! You or a kiddo? Glad everything turned out okay~

Hope we worked on Cave info for about 4 weeks (I only see my students 1x per week). We talked about landforms and watched animations that showed how caves develop over time. We did a ton of research on bats and the myths about bats. This included facts, fiction stories (Stellaluna) and some measurements that compared wingspans of different bats. We did a little research on other animals that live in caves and finally.

I had the asthma attack.

Trip 2 wasn't as smooth, but it was organized.
